Serge L. Girard

Serge L. Girard is, above all, gifted with immense curiosity. He first took an interest in how a modern society functions and earned a bachelor of political science degree from Université Laval. He then turned his attention to how citizens can protect their interests in their relationship with the state and their fellow citizens, completing studies in the faculty of law of Université de Montréal. Later, he drew on a better knowledge of the business world and a set of solid management skills in earning his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at HEC Montréal.

Admitted to the Quebec Bar Association in 1990, Maître Girard worked in small law firms where he put to good use his versatility and participated in transactional mandates and commercial litigation of all kinds. After several years serving his clients as a lawyer, Maître Girard then took up managerial and managing director duties in the private sector. This role change allowed him to acquire a renewed vision of the part that business law can play in the sound management and growth of businesses.

In founding his law firm, Force-Legal, Maître Girard was inspired by this new vision – making business law a management tool. To this end, he developed an approach based on prevention. By being involved with his clients starting with their projects’ inception, he often enables them to avoid having to manage problems.manage problems.
